Jeffrey J Hopp
Awards Australia
...and Australian of the Year Awards
In 1989 after resigning as chairman and CEO of Jesus People Welfare Inc, Hopp created Awards Australia to recognise excellence across a series of awards programs including initiating the Young Achiever Awards with the Channel 10 Network, the State Regional Achievement Awards and the Aged Care Awards for the Federal Government. Subsequently, through an invitation by the then Chairman of the National Australia Day Council, Phillip Adams, Jeffrey Hopp took over the running of the Young Australian of the Year Awards.
Working with major sponsors, the Commonwealth Bank and Qantas, the Senior Australian of the Year Awards were added to the program.
After 16 years running Awards Australia, the business was sold in 2014.
